Some have fitted a Jaguar X-type (same engine/ virtually the same car as a Mondeo mk3) alternator pulley to their Mondeos, the alternator needs a bit of (basic) machining to make it fit they have been doing this for at least a couple of years or more

I ended up with a mk3 Mondeo 2.0 TDCi, 115PS, 2006-plate hatchback in green. Great cosmetic condition, 136,000 miles on the clock, with no service history apart from last MOT (March 15), which it passed with a couple of advisories, one of which is the noise I'm asking about here.

Hi, I have a 2007 mondeo 2.0 tdci which has very recently developed a very slight misfire. Its hardly noticeable but seems to be getting gradually worse particularly when sitting at around 2000 revs. Also, when you accelerate quite a bit of smoke comes out the exhaust. Its not white smoke but more like dark greyish smoke.
